Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
