Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
