Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who noticed a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Officers report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important political figure stated the attack made him without words and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in 2020.
